Toolchive is a collection of free, fast, no-nonsense calculators for home improvement and everyday projects. Whether you're figuring out how many tiles to buy, how much paint a room needs, or how many bags of mulch will cover a garden bed, the goal is the same: give you a clear answer in seconds, with no signup and no clutter.

Why it exists

Most "how much do I need" questions have a simple formula behind them — but doing the math by hand is error-prone, and a wrong estimate means a second trip to the store or a pile of wasted material. Toolchive turns those formulas into clean, instant tools so you can plan and budget with confidence.

How the tools work

• Every calculator runs entirely in your browser — nothing you type is sent to a server.
• They're built to use the units that suppliers actually sell in (squares, cubic yards, boxes, bags, and so on).
• Most include a sensible waste allowance and an optional cost estimate.
• They work on phones, tablets, and desktops, and support both imperial and metric units.

A note on estimates: our calculators give solid planning figures, but real-world projects vary. For anything structural or load-bearing, always confirm with a professional and your local building code.
